Must-Win For Real Madrid at Barcelona?
Two of the biggest teams in pro sports, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF, have a rivalry so big it has its own name, El Clásico. The two meet again in Spanish La Liga play at Spotify Camp Nou (GrassMaster) in Barcelona, Spain, on Sunday (ABC, ESPN+, ESPN Deportes, 4 EDT/3 CDT/1 PDT).
Lamine Yamal and Barcelona (9-0-0) have gotten off to a perfect start in league play and have won 12 straight to start the new season in all competitions as of October 15 (50 GF-12 GA), with only one of those 14 fixtures seeing 2 goals or fewer scored (BAR 2 ATH 0, August 27).
Real Madrid (7-0-2) already has two losses in La Liga (Real Betis, Atlético Madrid), so a loss here could mean a long season for new manager José Mourinho and Los Blancos, who have another loaded roster and high expectations in the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League tourney.

For this first Clásico of the 2026-27 season, traders at Kalshi have home club Barcelona (59%) as big favorites over Real Madrid (28%), with a Draw at 15% in the Barcelona vs Real Madrid winner trade. Barça will wear a kit featuring Tyler, the Creator, a new tradition with Spotify as sponsor.
🎈Trading Thoughts: There was a time when it didn’t matter where El Clásico was played, as either Barcelona or Real Madrid could win the high-profile match. The days of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are long gone from La Liga. Now we have to say the Catalans own this series.
In 264 Clásicos, Barcelona and Real Madrid have both won 106 times, and in the last 10 series meetings, the Catalans have gone 7-3-0 vs. their rivals, winning the last 2 overall and the last 3 straight at home at Camp Nou. The Both Teams To Score (BTTS) ‘Yes’ went a healthy 8-2.

Barcelona is loaded with talent, with outfield players like Raphinha (9 goals), Fermin López, Pedro, Rodri, Frenkie de Jong, Anthony Gordon, Gabriel Jesus, and a solid GK in Joan Garcia. Still, he is seldom peppered with quality shots on target like Barcelona's opponents.
The pressure will be on Kylian Mbappé, Jordan Henderson, and RM here, and the best approach is to back Barcelona, take the Over 4.5 (and even 5.5), and bang the BTTS ‘Yes’ in the Props market. The match pits two of Europe's best six against each other, but Barça and PSG are elite clubs.
They will meet again in the Spanish Supercopa on February 2, 2027, and in league play on May 9, 2027, at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid (ESPN+). These two clubs can also meet in other competitions like the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League and the 2026-27 Spanish Copa del Rey.

2026 Midterms Election Numbers Update
The 2026 Midterms Elections are quickly approaching, so let’s update the two of the biggest markets with Election Day now just 11 days away in the United States, on Tuesday, November 3.
2026 Balance of Power
The biggest question is who will control Congress—if just one party—and the trading numbers at Polymarket US in the 2026 Midterms: Balance of Power shows the Democrats may be taking back control over both chambers in a potential Blue Wave in the next fortnight.
On October 15, a Democrats Sweep (65%)—taking back both the US House of Representatives and the US Senate—was the big favorite, so we may finally be done with Mike Johnson. A D-House, R-Senate (27%), Republicans Sweep (10%), and R-House, D-Senate (2%) followed.

Texas Senate Race
The Senate race in Texas is a big one in the news and rightfully so, with the Lone Star State seeing a grotesque $500 million in ad spending in the race between Republican Trumpeter Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico. This may end as the most expensive non-presidential race ever.
On October 15, the New York Times reported that Talarico's lead in the polls had shrunk somewhat. Still, Paxton has led in only three polls since June, and most polls and prediction-market trading have shown the 37-year-old Talarico ahead of the 63-year-old Paxton.
Paxton is currently the Attorney General in the still theoretically conservative state of Texas, a position he has held since 2015, while Talarico is an educator and Presbyterian seminarian from Round Rock who has served in the Texas House of Representatives since 2018.

In the Texas Senate Election Winner race, young whippersnapper Talarico (68%) still has a substantial lead over old codger Paxton (32%). At Polymarket US, in the Texas Senate Election: Denton County Winner exchange (October 21), Paxton had a 20% lead (58%-38%).
Democrats have not won a Senate race in Texas since 1988—11 years before the Houston Texans were awarded an NFL franchise—so we may see history in the making on November 3 if these markets truly reflect how the Lone Star State votes.

Report: CFTC Told to Hush on Oil Contracts
Reports surfaced last week of a potential oil insider-trading incident: billions of oil contracts allegedly bought for oil to fall and the S&P 500 to rise about 15 minutes before a Truth Social post by our Commander in Chief announcing a U-turn in Iran. So what’s up?
Around 15 minutes before, US President Donald J. Trump posted on Truth Social that the country was pausing oil strikes on Iranian power plants; market traders sold off contracts equal to more than 6 billion barrels of crude in a 2-minute window—about 8x the normal volume.
In that same 2-minute span, over $2 billion in S&P Futures were offloaded, as if somebody somewhere obviously knew something.
Although not prediction markets, the suspiciously flagged trades were executed on platforms of the CME Group and the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). CME has partnerships with Kalshi and Polymarket, while ICE has a stake and a data partnership with New York City-based Polymarket.
Michael Selig and the Commodity and Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which oversees prediction markets in Washington, D.C., began looking into the suspicious trading before allegedly being told to halt its investigation.
But Mel Gunewardena, a senior adviser to Selig at the CFTC, reportedly told a supervisor in the Division of Market Oversight to “retract the analytical referral sent to the agency's Division of Enforcement, on the suspicious trades made just minutes before the president’s reversal.
We have seen many instances where insider trading has been exposed and addressed, like with the Nicolas Maduro capture, the Google Search, the French weather market, George Santos, and the Trump chyron guy; nothing that has risen to the level where real integrity stands.
Until the CFTC proves it’s not just another agency doing the bidding of the Trump administration, looking into the small stuff and ignoring the big stuff, and choosing not to look into something potentially as serious as it gets, it’s hard to give them the credibility they desire at the federal level.
And we can say the same about the FDA, FCC, FBI, and many other federal agencies, and even the sacred US Supreme Court, now tainted by polarizing politics. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has demanded answers from the CFTC, and the Department of Justice (DOJ) is also looking into it.
UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi Early on Saturday
There’s a big mixed martial arts event on the schedule this weekend with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) serving up UFC 333: Volkanovski vs. Evloev from the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Saturday (Paramount+ Main Card—2 EDT/1 CDT/11 PDT).
The entire UFC 333: Volkanovski vs. Evloev card will air on the streaming service Paramount+, with the Early Prelims starting at 10 a.m. EDT (9 CDT/7 PDT), the Prelims scheduled to begin around 12 pm EDT (11 CDT/9 PDT), with the aforementioned Main Card at 2 EDT (1 CDT/11 PDT).

The Main Event on the Main Card is the Featherweight title fight between unbeaten Movsar Evloev (20-0-0) and Alexander Volkanovski (28-4-0), an event the oddsmakers and prediction markets both essentially have as a 50/50 proposition. Everything’s alright.
The 32-year-old Russian Evloev—ranked #1 in the Meta UFC Featherweight rankings—was priced at -110 at DraftKings on the Moneyline on October 16, as was 38-year-old Australian Volkanovski. Evloev has a 1-inch Reach edge (72.5”-71.5”) and a much better Takedown average (4.78-1.63).

At Kalshi in the Alex Volkanovski vs. Mosvar Evloev fight market, Alex Volkanovski (51%) held a slight edge over Mosvar Evloev (49%) in the Main Event between the talented Featherweights. If the fight ends in a Draw, both fighters’ markets will resolve to 50%-50% ($0.50 per contract).
You can find all of the bouts on the UFC 333 card on Saturday in the UAE for trading at Kalshi.

#5 Hoosiers at The Big House on Saturday
NCAAF Week 8 serves up some tasty games for fans and casual and serious sports bettors, including #5 Indiana (5-0, 2-0 in Big Ten) at Michigan (3-2, 0-2 in Big Ten) at Michigan Stadium (FieldTurf) in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Saturday (FOX, 12 EDT/11 CDT/9 PDT).
The biggest stadium in the US, affectionately called The Big House, will see a game much more important to QB Josh Hoover and the visiting Hoosiers, who are coming off that big game against Ohio State in Bloomington in Week 7, where the Buckeyes ended IU’s 22-game winning streak.
In the Indiana vs. Michigan winner market at Kalshi, traders like HC Curt Cignetti and Indiana (71%) over QB Bryce Underwood and host Michigan (29%). At online sportsbook DraftKings, Indiana is a 7-point chalk with the Total sitting at 41.5 (Moneyline: IND -278, MICH +225).

🎈Trading Thoughts: Looking at the last 10 series meetings in this Big Ten Conference rivalry, IU has turned the program around; we see Michigan is still 8-2-0 SU because of the pre-Cignetti suckage with Indiana 5-4-1 ATS but failing to get the money in the last two meetings.
The Under went 6-4-0 over that span, with 3 of the last 4 going Under the Total and is 3-1-0 the last 4 in Ann Arbor. But the Hoosiers have struggled ATS lately, going 1-6-0 in their last 7, starting with their win over Miami in the 2026 CFP Championship Game (IND -7.5, IND 27 MIA 21).
Under Cignetti, the Hoosiers have been machine-like, and additions like RB Turbo Richard and WR Nick Marsh show how much D1 athletes like playing for him. IU doesn’t want a loss here, and its defense is strong enough (11.8 PPG, #5), very disciplined, and has had just 1 TO all season.
🏈NCAAF Week 8 Saturday Pick: Indiana, Yes 71¢

SC Freiburg Hosts Bayern in Bundesliga Sunday
Every season, it seems Bayern Munich (4-2-0, 14 points) rushes out to an early lead in the German Bundesliga, and never looks back. Still, this season is different, with the Bavarians now seeing third-place SC Freiburg (4-1-1, 13 points) and Borussia Dortmund (4-2-0, 14 points) today.
On Sunday at Europa-Park Stadion (Grass) in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, Bayern Munich battles SC Freiburg in a chance for the road team to get back where they think they belong and for the home team to send a message to the European titans and stay on top of the Bundesliga table.
At Polymarket in the Bayern Munich vs. SC Freiburg winner market, traders like Bayern Munich (71%) over SC Freiburg (15%), with a Draw trading at 17%. Harry Kane and Der FCB are -300 favorites at DraftKings, with SC Freiburg at +370 and the Draw at +450 (Total: 3.5o -140).

🎈Trading Thoughts: In the last 5 meetings, Bayern Munich is an unbeaten 4-1-0 (15 GF-7 GA)—winning the last 4 straight—with MF Michael Olise and Bayern going 2-1-0 at Europa-Park Stadion. Finally, a Bayern league match worth watching (Fandango, 12:30 EDT/9:30 PDT).
With GK Manuel Neuer and the visitors on their best behavior, expect a solid effort from the start with 3-4 goals to the Breisgau Brazilians 1-2, meaning the prop market Both Teams To Score (‘Yes’) here is also worth consideration (4-1 L5 meetings). Bayern allowed 4 goals in its first 5 matches.
This is a match the visitors can’t afford to lose, or even draw, for that matter, for many reasons, including the psychological burden of such a weak Bundesliga start and losing at Freiburg. Expect Joshua Kimmich, Alphonso Davies, Luis Díaz, and Bayern at their best, with a 3-1 or 4-1 win.
⚽Bundesliga Sunday Picks: Bayern Munich, Yes 71¢, Bayern Munich -1.5, Yes 51¢, Over 3.5, Yes 59¢
